Hi, I have a Whirlpool dishwasher model no. DU920PWKQU. The start knob has recently become harder and harder to turn at times, and then last night, the dishwasher quit working in the middle of the rinse cycle (with the bottom still full of water) This model has no digital display, just has the dial and 6 buttons to select cycle type. We are pretty handy at installing new parts, but not good at diagnostics. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Carrie

Carrie,

Does it make any noise? Did you try to restart the dishwasher with the timer in different positions?

Gene.

No noise at all. I tried starting it over from the beginning at pots and pans, tried starting it at the heavy wash and the normal wash sections of the dial. After researching a bit, I realized I miss posted the model no. The last 'U' should be an 0 (zero). "Also its a Quiet Partner 1".

Thanks,
Carrie

I would start from verifying the power source. Check the power outlet for 120 VAC and verify the proper power cord connection to the outlet.

Remove the toe panel, open the cover for the junction box under the dishwasher (#42 on the diagram) and check for burned wires.

Remove the inner door panel and check the door switches and the wires inside the door.

Post the results.

Gene.
