My dryer makes a screeching noise when the drum turns. Sometimes it will only hum when I push the start button. My husband has taken the back panel and vent compartment off. The noise seems to be coming from the where the blower wheel is located. How can he remove or clean the blower wheel? Thanks.

it is most likely the rear drum rollers. they actually have a kit that would include the 2 rollers, the idler pully and the belt. your husband needs to go in through the front. pull the filter out, and take out the 2 phillips head screws that are holding the filter assembly in place. the pop up the top, and then take the front off, and remove the belt and the drum, and that should do it. the only time something is usually wrong with the blower whell is if your dropped something down the vent housing. if you want to look in there, have your husband take the four 5/16th screws that hold the back of the blower housing in place, and check it out. let me know how it goes. tom applianceeducator.com - parts

My husband took the whole thing apart. We found the noise to be coming from the motor. Instead of installing a new motor and taking the chance something else might go wrong; we decided to give in and buy a whole new set. We noticed the washer was also leaking oil. Just wanted to come back and say thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with others.:)
