I own a Maytag Neptune gas dryer, Model# mdg6800aww. Everything seems to work fine but the unit doesn't heat.

There's no problem with venting. I removed the front of the unit to check the igniter; it comes on right away and reaches a heathly glow but then shuts down. I'm gathering from my research (I'm not an expert) that I have a faulty upper limit thermostat. I've noticed in other posts that experts seem to recommend replacing both thermostats in this situation as one can incapacitate the other.

Would replacing both thermostats be a wise course of action to begin addressing this issue?
