have Maytag Performa Washer (don't see model # on back) purchased in 1997. It won't agitate or spin on any of the cycles but knits and delicates. It will fill on other cycles but just cycles through without doing anything. Any ideas of what the problem may be and how I might repair myself?

You can find the model number on the rear control panel cover (on top of it).

Nope, no model # on rear of machine. I cannot locate manual but I believe the model # was either pav1100 or pav1000. it was purchased in 1997
