I purchased a new Whirlpool timer and am having trouble installing it. It did not come with screws to attach it to the metal plate so I am attempting to use the existing screws however as I tighten them they go crooked and the timer will not stay in place. The holes in the old timer were threaded and in the new timer they are not. Could this be why it will not tighten to the back of the plate?
Thanks

Julie,

Could you get us the model number of your washer, and the part number you have, so I can research the situation.

You may have a defective new part, most metal bodied timer assemblies do have pre threaded mounting tabs on them.

Thanks,
:) :) :)
