Hi All,

I am trying to replace the socket that my stovetop burner element plugs into (it's cracked and falling apart, preventing the burner from heating up - the burners are new). However, I'm unsure about which is the applicable part and parts place reps only give vague responses.

For my stove, the following parts are listed:

741 Receptacle - AP2013499
961 Kit Surface Terminal Block - AP3203326

They look very similar and from the pictures, one or the other can be used. Is there any recommendation on which to get?

Thanks for any input.

I would go with the AP2013499 as it has the wires connected at the factory so there is less chance of a poor connection. Also it should be less screwing around.

The kit is probably a universal unit that is made to fit a number of different stoves.

Would not hurt to discuss this with the parts person when you order.

According to APP, they said their info points to 961 Kit Surface Terminal Block - AP3203326 as being the correct part.

Then I would go with APP's recommendation.

I ended up buying 2 of each part. It turns out that both will work for my particular range model.

741 Receptacle - AP2013499 - was a direct replacement for the broken parts. Came with a screw to mount the clip which I didn't have to use - I just used the old one. Wire lengths are sufficient for both front and back burners.

961 Kit Surface Terminal Block - AP3203326 - came with much longer wires with purple insulation and 2 clip configurations. Either clip worked with my range as the grounding tab is not used. I just had to loop the extra length and tie wrap it neatly.
