Have a Fault Code F3 display on oven when trying to set oven ON.

Researched code F3 indicates Open or Short Temperature sensor.
Remove Temperature Sensor (Thimister) and measured DC resistance.
When cold, measures 17k ohms. When sensor is heated in flame, resistance drops to 2k ohms. The measurements repeat all time.

Sensor appears to function normally. Could there be another problem?

Edul,

Yes, your F3 code would indicate a sensor circuit problem,

However, your readings are incorrect.

At room temperature(72 dgrs), the resistance should be less than 1,100 ohms(usually 1084 ohms and a maximum of 2200 in broil).

As the temperature increases, so should the resistance of the sensor.

Your sensor is working backwards, based on your information.

Did you check the resistance with the meter set at RX1, RX100 or RX1000 setting ?

You did disconnect the sensor at the wire nuts, or plastic connector and check the resistance on the wires/pins ?

Re check the resistance again,

If you still have the same readdings, replace the sensor

Part number: AP4282440
Part number: AP4282440

If the readings are in the range I described, replace the ERC(clock).

Part number: AP88013

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
