Washer spin cycle spins slow thus clothes are very wet and end of final spin cycle. When I activate the spin cycle on panel and open lid and press lid switch the drum will begin to spin but the agitator runs back and forth at the same time and seems to be working against the drum in the spin cycle. When I release the lid switch the drum stops pretty quickly like there is some friction there. Could this be the motor coupler.

Seem like you have dragging brake shoes. Go to my sticky above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes" for info on this. Your agitator movement might just be normal.
