Our almost 10 year old Bosch Dishwasher will not complete a cycle. This model has a timer instead of the infamous control panel. It stops mid cycle, continuing to run, but the timer will not advance on its own. It will continue when the timer is manually turned, only to get stuck again.

I immediately thought it was the timer that needed replacing, but I do not want to waste precious $$ if that is not the problem. Could the problem also be caused by a faulty heater or thermostat? How would I check these?

I am not afraid to take anything apart.

I appreciate any and all counsel in this matter.

Hi Dendra,
I was experiencing the same problem with the same model and was able to replace the timer myself. I just answered another request today (10/19/2010) by B McManus about the same problem and you may want to check it out too. The title of my original post was "Timer Replacement on Bosch SCH3032UC Dishwasher" when I was asking for help.
