Our whirpool dryer won't run longer than 10 minutes and then shuts off and won't restart for a hour or so if at all. What do we need to do-already checked hose to outside.

Open it up and clean out everything, particular the inside of the cabinet and the lint chute/vent going to the outside.

If this does not fix things, then your symptoms are the classic sign of a failing motor.
