I recently moved and during the move my washer timer knob broke off and the stem cover connecting the knob to the washer is still on the washer. I bought the replacement knob but I can't put it on due to the broken piece where the knob slides on will not come off, I've tried pulling it with pliers and it won't budge. Does this thing screw on and off?

Without a model number I can only give you two general suggestions.

1. See if it will unscrew (counterclockwise) with the timer depressed.

2. If this does not work, open up the console and see if there are instructions on the back of the timer as to how to take off the knob.

If you still cannot do, post the model number and maybe we can give further help.

Good luck.
