I am gettin a F7 code. None of the buttons work except for "clear". This will clear the code but it comes back. I have disconnected power for a couple of minutes a couple of times but the code comes back after unit has been powered up for a few minutes. Is there anything else I can do to figure this out or is it the control panel?

wenoch,

- Diagrams for your Model JKP56BD1BB

Go to our oven error codes page, scroll past the list of brands to the "F1 touch pad / ERC test" - the same test applies to F7 code. This is how you can hopefully find out if the problem's with the clock (other names: oven control, ERC) or the touch pad (other names: control panel, membrane switch).

Keep us posted.

No doubt the problem with your oven is one or more keys on the key pad got stuck. It is not repairable and the key pad has to be replaced. GE sold it as a control panel assembly. It is a pretty simple job and I believe you can do it yourself. In case you'll need more instructions to replace it I'll be glad to help you.
For your future references here you can find the break down diagrams for the GE oven Model JKP56BD1BB
Good luck.
Gene.

while attempting to change clock back from daylight savings time, the code 5ab appeared on control panel. Is the pad stuck or what can be done to fix? This is a Maytag range:confused:

Hi Ron

5ab can not be an error code. Try to remove the power from the oven for a few minutes and then turn it back on. If it would not help, I need the complete model number of the oven and exact error code shown on the display.

Gene.
