I have a GE side by side refrigerator - model "TFX27PFXD BB".
Got a problem that I have ignored for over a year:
"Door Open" warning red LED light is always flashing and I have to turn off the "door alarm" button to stop the beeping. Both the door switches work normally as when I press them down or let go, the light inside the freezer (or fridge side) will go off and on.
Today, a new problem: the light bulb for the dispenser stay on even water or ice is not being dispensed.

Appreciate if you let me know what the problem is.

Hi.

Regarding the "door alarm" check the alignment of the door sensors.they should be next to each other when the doors are closed. You may need to adjust the doors.
For the light staying on check if the light switch is on or bad.
The bad news are that the control board is not available any more.
If you need to replace the door sensor

Ha, I thought the switches (at the toe level) sense the door open/close. I didn't know there is another pair of sensor at the (chest level). Now, I know what to test next. Thank you.

Oh, question. When I put a cup on the dispenser, do I engage two switches - one for water/ice to come out and another to turn on the light bulb?

Hi.

When you pressing the lever the light should come on automatically.

Haha. There is a on/off overwrite switch next to the dispenser light bulb. My kid accidentally knocked it to on and we didn't know it exist with 10 years of using it.
And door assignment did the track to shut off the "Door Open" LED.

WITHOUT SPENDING A CENT, EVERYTHING IS GOOD NOW. THANK YOU.
