Started "Washer Cycle" last night and it only lasted 10 min. This cycle normally last at least an hour. When it starts, it reads 60 min left in cycle. Probably been doing this for a while and is the reason it has not been cleaning the drum properly. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix? I have tried unplugging for 10 minutes, but, still have same problem. Thanks.

Hi.

How the control board counting down remaining time?
Or it's just jumping from 60 to 10 min?
Is there any F codes displayed?

Simon.

Not sure. Started cycle and it said 60min. Came back 5 to 10 min later and it said 4 or 5 min. I know it has done this 3 times. No F codes. Runs till is reads done.

Need a bit more info. Would you monitor it closely?

I have the exact same machine and I'm having the exact same problem.
my machine had been giving an F1 which is a failed controller. the repair man came out and replaced ( for free it's a recall) the computer part and now I'm getting an OL OR the computer jumps from 60 min to 3 minutes and spins out.

the manual says OL means overload take out some clothes try again.
I have taken out everything little by little till there are only a few things in the machine and still get the OL OR if it does "go" the clock will say 90 minutes (for long wash pre soak etc) the machine never even really fills up.
it starts to fill and spin then continues to fill, spin full spin fill spin then after a few minutes (5 to 10) it jumps on the minutes remaining screen from 60 to 3 minutes left. and spins the clothes out and that's it.
the machine never really fills and never agitates at all. also it does not dump in bleach or fabric softener into the load.

whirlpool claims its something else, and they wont send out someone to fix it again. its doing the EXACT same thing it was when i had the controller issue just giving me now a different code. they were out 10 days ago and it's never worked. i didn't even get to wash one load of laundry.

HMMMM any help is much appreciated :)

Make sure there is no any foreign objects between the inner and the outer tubs.

do i just turn the washer on its side and look around the tub?

Angi,

The best way is to lift up the top panel and remove the balance ring on top of the tub. Then, using a flash light, you can look between the tubs.
