My refrig stopped making ice. I have a double solenoid valve at the rear of the system. When I measure the voltage on the solenoid for my water dispenser I get 120VAC, but when I measure the voltage for the Ice Solenoid valve it reads only 95VAC and the valve does not open.
Is there something I can repair or do I need a new ice maker?
Thanks
Shirtsir

If you are not getting water to the ice maker I would first check the water line between the water inlet valve and the ice maker to make sure it's not frozen shut. I do this by trying to blow air though it.
If the line is not frozen and you are getting voltage to the water inlet valve, yet no water to the ice make I would replace the water inlet valve.
Dont' know why you are getting a lower reading to the water inlet valve now, as that is kind of odd.

Dont' know why you are getting a lower reading to the water inlet valve now, as that is kind of odd. The line is not frozen I checked that out. The first water inlet valve also works because I get cold drinking water. I can hear the ice making valve trying to open for about 6-7 seconds but no water comes out. Have you ever heard of the diodes that sit in between the first water valve and the double water / ice maker valves going bad? I am only measuring 95 VAC at the ice making valve while I measure 120VAC at the water valve. Thanks, Shirtsir

Hmm, I recall something about them diodes but just can't recall right now. I looked up the diagram to see if it would refresh my memory and it looks like there is two diodes on water valve one. I searched this forum and my own to see if I could find any more info on the Frigidaire Diode, but come up empty. Maybe another technician can fill us in on what's going on with the diodes. I have attached the wiring diagram, maybe it will be helpful. Sorry I could not be of more help.
