Hi
I have a dishwasher that when its cycled out, the heating element is still extremely hot, to the point of not being able to touch anything inside. It also appears to be getting hot when I just close the door too without putting it into a cycle. (Is this a drying element, or a water heating element) Im not sure if the board is bad or there is a limit shitch stuck closed. Any help is appreciated.

It is both it heats the water and also dries the dishes.

Unfortunately I would say that the control board is toast.

There is a limit switch (thermostat) (Item 26 in Section 6) but the heater should not be getting power so it will not cause your problem.
It just regulates the temperature, it is the control board that actually turns the heater on/off.
