My Frigidaire electric stove makes a terrible screeching sound when I try to use the oven, broil or convection oven. The electric cooktop part works fine, just cant use anything else. I would assume this type of noise could only result from a moving part, but since I cant use the oven or broil either... (they don't require a moving part such as a convection fan/motor) doesn't make sense.

Could this be an electrical problem.... like a shorted control switch? The last time I called a repairman, they couldn't make heads or tales and wanted to replace parts to eliminate possibilities (at my expense). Yes, Thanksgiving is in two days, I'm in no great rush, just want to correctly identify possible problems.
