oven light and oven do not go on. Had repairman look at it and he tested the oven. Works but not getting power. Thought control panel had experienced a power surge and blew. Said it was too expensive to fix. I don't think that is true so I and looking for an answer from you. Please advise.

Hi.

To determine what's wrong with the oven you need to have the multimeter and basic skills.
Check if the oven ignitor is glowing,if it's not - does it get's 120VAC?
Is the light bulb good?
Post more detailed description of the problem: what do you see on the clock?

Post the results.

Hello, Simon, the repairman checked the ignition (guess it was getting 120 vac)of the oven and said it was between the electronic control board and the igniter and suspected a power surge had knocked out the board. The clock displays the time and no other messages. We checked the light bulb and did not get any response to a new one. Don't know if it is on the same path as the igniter.
