I have a GE Hotpoint model RB757W H4WW Electric Range. Recently I noticed that all my baked items Bread, Roasts etc., were coming out under done. on checking further I found that My Bake elements were working properly, and that my oven temperature was fluctuating by as much as 100F. My question is this, Since I have narrowed it down the the relay on the Control board Part Number GEH WB27K102112. Can this block be replaced? if so, can a novice do it, and what is the part number & price? Any help you offer would be greatly Appreciated.

I am assuming that this "I found that My Bake elements were working properly" is a typo and it should be not working. Read more: http://forum.appliancepartspros...large.html#ixzz1K5G2sYPM http://forum.appliancepartspros.comHere are your parts Replacement parts for General Electric RB757WH4WW Electric range | AppliancePartsPros.comYour timer is Item 129 in Section 1. You may also need a new overlay. Can this block be replaced? if so, can a novice do it, Yes it can be replaced but as far as I know it is not available from AppliancePartsPros. You would have to go to an electronics parts supply house like Digikey and they may be able to cross reference it for you. As far as replacing it I guess it depends on how much of a novice you are. You will need a soldering gun and some knowledge of de-soldering and soldering. One thing to be aware of is that just because then relay contacts do not close does not mean that the relay is bad. It could be that a part in the circuit which controls the power to the relay coil could be bad. Note: I do not work for AppliancePartsPros, I just spend some time on this forum trying to help a few people out so I am not trying to push a new board from them. |

Thank you for your reply. I took the Bake Element out of the range and did a continuity check and found no restriction. I also tried a continuity check from the terminal to the element case (Shroud? outer skin?) and found the entire test to be open. Next I put the Bake element back in the oven and fired it up. I came on really good but turned off after about 5 minutes. then it cam back on again. It did this several times and the temperature in the oven fluctuated by as much as 35F. I am wondering if I should check the sensor. what do you think? PS: I am no good at soldering.

I do not think it will be the bake relay itself as it did work.
Does your broil element work? Often units switch back and forth between bake and broil elements |

HI DENMAN.
Yes the Broiler works great. i took the sensor out and checked it with my VOM I have 3 settings RX1K, RX10 & RX1 I checked all 3 positions and got no readings from any of them. What I am hearing is that with the sensor out of the oven I should be getting a reading of at least 300 OHMS. 2 questions; 1) Does that mean that the sensor is bad? (Makes sensor to me) 2) Does the sensor have to be calibrated to this specific oven?
Thanks, David

Hi DENMAN:
Thank you for your continued help. Using the information you supplied, I went ahead and ordered a new sensor. It is not due till about 7 days. AS soon as it comes, I will install it and then I will see if that did the trick. I feel that you have hit the nail squarely on the head, Thanks again, David
