My Mom's Frigidaire gas dryer DGSFW3 is having troubles.
The heating flame wouldn't light, so I swapped the quartz igniter and both coils. Now it fires up initially, but then cycles off after a few minutes. A few minutes later the igniter glows but the gas valve never clicks and therefore it never ignites the flame.
On the recycle, when the igniter has been on for about 30 seconds if I tap the valve with a screw driver handle it clicks and then lights.

I'm trying not to replace the valve since it costs about $230.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there Diamond X. My DGSFW3 is having the same problem. Did you ever get a repair? I'm thinking that the reason it ignites on the first cycle is because it's a normal setting for fluffing clothes, or starting a new load in an already hot dryer, but I don't want to order the 43$ sensor, if that's not it. hope you got it fixed...let me know if you did!
