My Maytag MDE9606AYW makes a growling noise when pushing the start button. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it won't. The last few days it has gotten worse and seldom starts. If I continue to make attempts at starting the dryer after several attempts it no longer makes any noise, additionally the lights on the moisture indicator do not light. I assume this is the thermal limiter because after I let it sit for 30 minutes or so, the light will come on and it makes the growling noise when I push the start button. Is it probable that the motor has gone away? Or should I be looking at another part? It sounds similar to a solenoid but I don't see any in the diagrams. Thank you in advance for any help.
