My dryer quit working this morning. It was running one minute and the next thing I knew it was off. I unplugged and re-plugged and checked the breaker, but to no avail. I am hoping it is a minor repair. Although it is nearly 17 years old I have never had any major problems with it. I have called a repair company, but they have not called back yet to schedule. Is there anything I can check or test before they call to schedule to avoid a service fee?

Remove the rear cover and check the thermal fuse (#59 on the diagram) for continuity. If the fuse is blown, clean the dryer vent line all the way through the outlet. - The thermal fuse Part number: AP3132867
