Model 1103406766. Dryer will not heat up. Checked both the coil, reading around 12 or 13 when we tested it and the censors were running around 4 when i tested them. Does anyone know what the tester should read to know if this is my problem???

Uriah,

Could you double check the model number, I could not find it in my Kenmore Technical / parts information,

Your heater element apparently, is OK. 12 to 13 ohms is in range for a basic heater element.

I don't quite understand "sensors", but if you mean the thermostats, they should read a closed circuit(infinite resistance) at room temperature, on the RX1 scale(lowest resistant range) with the wires off the terminals.

Did you check and make sure you had 220 to 240 Volts, at the outlet and at the terminal block where the line cord attaches to the dryer ?

We'll need a proper model number to supply you with more information.

Thanks,
:) :) :)

That is the model # but im not really sure why it does not show up anyplace else,. thermo, was correct. sorry i was in a hurry, and running wild as usual to try to get something done. Another question being sounds like i might be ok if those 2 are reading was that i found out that my vent only leads to the attic, could this be my actual problem, if it runs too hot does it shut down the heat element?

Uriah,

Yes, vertical venting, and a clogged vent pipe, roof vent or elbow will cause the dryer heat to shut down early, It causes the hi limit thermostat to open, and could cause the thermo fuse to open as well, but I'm not sure you have one, as I can't get any information, with what we've got.

You should have noticed that it was taking a long time to dry ?

If you're sure you have 220 VAC at the dryer and you run the dryer with the vent disconnected, it should heat, based on what you've told us , so far.
