Which oven does not work? Do both Bake and Broil not work?

Gene,
I looked up this part # and my model is not listed as one that works with this model. Does my Whirlpool RB260PXBQ1 have a different fuse part # in back of oven or doesn’t have one like other models? If so, where is the fuse?
Hi gsran,
Most likely the problem with you oven is an open thermal fuse on the back of the oven. You have to remove the oven from the cabinet and remove the back cover from the oven to access the part.

Mark,
According to the wiring diagram for this model (attached to the reply) there are no any safety devices in this oven. So the problem is a bad control board.
The white control has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. The black control is on back order without ETA. You can talk to the APP team for more accurate information.

Gene, you gave parts list for this whirlpool model. Another question since this control panel no longer available(parts person gave me # for repair @ CG Industries). Since I have broiler working and 1/2 of bake element wires, is there a possiblity that broiler is not a 240V like the bake element. The parts list it shows bake element at 240V/2600 watts but nothing listed for broiler element. My dad said that sometimes a breaker is working on 1/2 “phase” or “face” so if broiler is not the 240 like bake, then that’s why it works. If both elements are 240v then it can’t be breaker and the only other thing it could be is control board. He had another question regarding thermostat: does thermostat control both elements? He says that if it went out then it won’t let the bake element on if it only controls it and not broiler. If hooked to both, then no, you are back to “it’s the control board” issue.
Mark,
I do have a question to you too. Have you tried to click on the file attached to the previous post? You can find all answers there.

Gene,
My bad, I didn’t see the tech sheet attachment that you sent. That is very helpful. I only saw the parts list url address. I will have my father take a look at it too. Again thank you and sorry for not seeing the attachment, my first time on this website.
No problem. Proceed with your diagnosis and post the results.

The control board was the problem. Luckily, we were able to buy a used oven for $40 and install the used control board.

We also learned that other oven models use the same control board. Once we knew that, we started checking all used Whirlpool ovens posted on CraigsList. We ended up buying a RB760PXBQ1.

You are welcome. I’m glad you were able to fix it with almost no cost to you. Good job!

Yes neither top or bottom comes on the start will not work everything else works
Would like to suggest, you start your own thread in the Oven Repair section, using Post New Topic. Do not forget to post the complete model number of the oven.
People will then see it is someone with a problem.
This should increase your odds of getting a relevant reply.

After Self Clean: oven controls function but unit does not heat. Appears the thermal overload fuse has blown. Can this part be tested before ordering and removing?
I too have repeated failures of the thermal fuse after self cleaning. I thought I read, maybe here (but can’t find it now), that it’s possible the temperature sensor is bad and letting the self clean get too hot. Is this possible even if the regular oven temperature stays pretty much within specs?
Hey Gene I have a free standing electric stove and my wife self cleaned it now the oven will not heat up. I checked power to the elements and there is 120 volts on both sides of both elements but still not coming on. The top burners are working fine. I check the elements and they have continuity and are not grounded. Any ideas?
A 99% probability it is the thermal fuse mentioned above. Located on the back of the oven under the metal cover.
I’m in the same position, however I have continuity throught the thermostat/fuse…any other ideas? Anyone here know where else to test this thing?
I have a whirlpool woc54ecohs04 oven microwave combo I’ve only used it a few times and cleaned it quit heating had a repair man out he said it was the limit switch he pulled out the unit and tapped on the limit switch and it worked said best thing is not to clean it what the heck the reason I bought this unit was the self cleaning what a rip can you help with a part number
Thanks
