What happens & when: It turns on for about 30 seconds, the burner heats up, and then it makes a clicking sound and turns off. About 15 seconds later, the burner turns on again. It cycles like this endlessly and makes it take much longer to boil water.

Hi timxua03, the most common reason for this issue is a bad infinite switch that is no longer regulating the temperature properly, especially if you’re hearing it clicking.

Oh, actually, that is normal for that stove. The burner will cycle on and off like that to regulate the temperature and help prevent the glass cooktop from overheating. So what you’re seeing is part of the stove’s normal operation.

Then why it tooks so long to boiling the water?

Would you please help me out? When I put water in that pot, it takes more than 10 minutes to boil even when the pot is only about one-quarter full.
