Whirlpool won't heat

I’m looking at a Whirlpool that belongs to a neighbor; it won’t get hot. We checked the resistance on the element and it was around 10.2 ohms. We also checked the continuity across the thermal fuse and it was good.

The cycling thermostat has two sets of contacts. One had continuity (close to 0 ohms) and one had an open circuit.

The timer is spinning around but the element isn’t getting hot on either timed or auto cycle?

Thanks,
Tyson

First, make sure you have 220-240VAC in the outlet. If not, flip the breaker off then back on. Sometimes they will partially trip.

Check for 220VAC across the element as it’s running. If you’re not getting it, and you show continuity in bothe thermostats and the thermal fuse, then try another cycle, to see if the timer is the culprit.
