Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: WFW8300S05 washer model | Part number: WPW10111435
Main Symptom: Noise; drum rubbing on seal
What happens & when: I’m replacing an old bellow on my front-loading washer. I got the part that is right for the model but when I put in the bellow it’s rubbing on the drum and the drum is sticking. The old bellow is significantly smaller when I compared them and looks different but everywhere I went confirmed this part.

There was a slight design change made on the newer gasket, however, it should still work. If you double check where it connects to the tub, does the door boot curl over the tub into the seam fully?
Thanks for your reply. So actually I didn’t quite understand your description. The door boot directly butted up against the edge of the tub. I ran it empty two cycles and it made noise and rubbed some rubber flakes off. Then it stopped making noise and rubbing after that and runs fine. Was the newer design larger? Have other people experienced issues with this?
The redesign has caused questions like this to occur because it is a little larger. The common fix is to do exactly what you have done after ensuring the section of the door boot that attaches to the rim of the tub is properly seated.
