Parts or tests already tried: Suspension and tub ring replaced 05/2022. Pushing down in the basket rim results in immediate smooth return to center and correct height. Tub ring part# AP6017207 (WPW10215107) purchased the other day but not installed. There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the current tub ring. It flexes left/right when move manually, there is no sound when its moved, it appears to not be broken anywhere, and it remains attached to the suspension which springs back steadily to center when I press on it. Should I install the ring anyway?
Links can be placed into the response and should work normally. Is the smaller load made of heavier or lighter clothes? The tub ring would not be a cause of failure. Regarding the suspension rod test, the best method to identify if a suspension rod has failed would be the process of elimination since the press and release test is only effective if the majority or all of the suspension rods have failed. However, since the out of balance issue does not happen on a normal load, the suspension rods are fine.

What is considered a small load? Is it a shirt or two, or is it a couple of towels? This can help identify what might be going on. Since the washer is not going out of balance with normal load, we have to identify every component that can cause an out of balance situation.
If the towels pile onto one side of the basket, it can throw the unit out of balance and cause this failure. Usually, heavier items like towels would be better off being ran in a medium to full load to allow a better balance for the washer.
Good morning, I’ve run a full load this morning with a mix of clothing and big towels, and the washing machine ran flawlessly. I’m currently running another full load that appears to be balancing properly. My guess is that my wife running a few items with one or two large towels is probably something that no machine can balance.
I am assuming that the tub ring I purchased last week is probably a non-factor for replacement, since a new one was installed in 2022. I only took it out of the box and looked at it. I think I should return it. How do I go about that?

I did 4 loads of wash today varying from heavy full load to gentle with a few items. I had no out of balance issues. It seems the loads that my wife was doing with one or two large towels, light gym gear and/or a bathing suit was the issue after all the tests and four loads today yielded no balance issues. I have obtained the RMA paperwork and will be shipping the part back.
On another note, I tried using the A.I. Chat assistant with a question about return shipping, RMA’s and who to use to ship the returns. The A.I. was hallucinating with its answers. You may want to have the IT department look inti this.
Now, I get the thankless job of telling my wife that it was her loading of the washing machine the way she did that caused the banging issues. LOL, pray for me. It’s good that I made dinner tonight, that way I will get to eat.
