Whirlpool Model #: WED4815EW1 - A loud squealing noise

Main Symptom: A loud squealing noise during operation.

I ordered a dryer repair kit from Appliance Parts Pros in May of 2025. The dryer has again started making a loud squealing noise. Is this an indication of the kit needing to be replaced again? Are there other components that could be causing this issue?

Hi ji25,

Did you replace the bearings that the rollers ride on, or at least clean them up with some WD-40? I’d also recommend spraying a little WD-40 on the tensioner pulley bearing.

Over time, the roller shafts and tensioner bearing can dry out, which creates extra friction. That friction can cause the rollers to wear into the shafts and produce that awful squealing noise you’re hearing.
