It began making some motor/blower noise awhile back. I checked for slack, found none. Noise has slowly got progressively worse. When I finished load of clothes this AM, checked, they needed few minutes more, when I tried to restart, it only buzzed.
I did appliance repair in 70s, just need refreshed on trouble shooting.
That’s gonna be the motor 279827 most likely. Make sure the drum turns relatively easily by hand, if it does then there’s a bad winding in the motor. You can usually test it by jumping out the door switch and assisting the drum by hand to see if it starts running, but the buzzing is a pretty good indication that it is the motor as long as the drum isn’t in a bind.
I’m attaching the instruction sheet for installing the new motor, just in case you decide to go that route. It wires up differently than the original.
