Whirlpool GU980SCGT2 drains slowly

My daughter’s dishwasher drains slowly. Pulled out the rack and checked down on the bottom. Found broken glass pieces, plastic pieces, stuff like that. Got that stuff out.

Still drains slowly.

Looked at other posts and the exploded diagramic view of the dishwasher, then checked exit hose for clog - all clear.
Unscrewed check valve and checked it - all clear.

I figure there is still junk inside the motor assembly.
I’m going to look closer inside and with a mirror to see if there is anything else that I can pull out.

If not, what is the next step? Yank the motor?

I found a shell to a nut.
THere are two white balls in the outlet port…but the schematic indicated that they belong there. I initially thought they were from the Hungry, Hungry, Hippos game.
Digging further in to the motor I guess.

I decided not to go deeper into the motor, and put the thing back to gether to see if the small particles and the peanut shell was the problem. It turns out that it was.

It seems that the pistaccio nut shell was restricting the outflow of water at the exit port…that recess that has the Hungry, Hungry Hippos balls in it. If hte water is not permitted to flow correctly, the water level in the machine rises and then starts to leak out of the door seal once it gets too high.
