Whirlpool Gold Detergent Cup switch constantly open

When I select a wash cycle the detergent cup switch instantly opens and remains jammed open buzzing. It seems like it is getting constant power.
What do I need to replace?

Remove the inner door panel and check all wires. If there is nothing wrong then, most likely, the problem is a bad control board.
