Whirlpool DU920 stuck in rinse

Whirlpool dishwasher stuck in rinse. Water heating light is on. Water is hot, but dishwasher continues to run. Cycle completes in low energy / China, but on Normal or higher does not drain / advance.

I think it is either the hi limit or the operating thermostat.

Can you tell me which?

Hi limit is AP3010530,

Operating / Cycling is AP3115144

Thanks,

The first failure suspect is the cycling thermostat AP3115144. The hi-limit thermostat is a safety device to prevent overheating.

Here are the break down diagrams for the whirlpool dishwasher Model DU920PFGB0

Buy a meter otherwise you are guessing and so am I.
You can get a decent digital multimeter for under $20.00, you do not need fancy though it is nice if the leads are a couple feet long.

You can then check the heater for resistance (usually around 25 ohms) and the thermostats (should be 0 ohms at room temperature).

There is a good sticky on meter usage at the start of this forum

Maybe it is heating but the unit does not sense the temperature increase.
