Whirlpool Dryer WED94HEAW0 powers on but will not start

Brand:Whirlpool
Model Number:WED94HEAW0
Main Symptom:Powers on but won’t start
Dryer turns on but when pressing the start button, I hear a clcking sound from the control board. Did open the back of the dryer and the belt and tensioner are still intact. Looked at the control panel and can’t find any burnt marks. Also checked that I had power to the plug. Made sure all the connections were good. Did clean out the dryer vents to see if that would work but didn’t. I read from other forums that to see if the timer runs down when pressing the start button and it does run down. Did read the manual that is under the panel for the tech and tried to press 3 buttons for 5 seconds each and a code CF1 came up.

Check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing, it is a white part that should have two light blue wires going to it, check for continuity. If it is open, replace it. Before you run it again, check the vent for airflow, poor airflow can blow that fuse. If the fuse is good, it is probably the main control board.

The fuse was the problem. I watched a video online where a technician ran a wire between the 2 wires to bypass the fuse. Plugged the dryer in and it started to work. Got the new fuse and I’m back up drying clothes.

Make sure to check the vent, fuses don’t just blow for the fun of it, although I have wondered sometimes!
