I need help diagnosing an issue with my washing machine. My clothes are wringing wet when they come out of the washer. There is no visible water in the tub, but the clothes have to be rung out before I can put them in the dryer. I’ve have checked the drain filter and the inlet and outlet hoses for clogs and found nothing. I was prepared to order and replace the entire pump until I heard that a new pump would have a tight impeller and a bad pump would have a freely moving impeller. Mine is NOT freely moving. It snaps back when I try to turn it and it is NOT wobbly. So… is my pump ok or not? What would you suggest at this point?
If you have a laundry sink next to your washer stick the drain hose in it and observe it will it is running. See if the water is coming out with force when it is in a drain cycle.
If not, try replacing the pump, this part here.
If the new pump does not fix the problem you can return it.
