I replaced a 25 year old Maytag with a new Whirlpool Gold seires a couple of years ago and I swear it has never performed as well as the old Maytag did. A service man came out twice and told me the water solenoid was bad, 140 bucks, and the second time that I needed to use Jet Dry. The unit has never cleaned that well and never has dried dishes hardly at all. Someone told me to increase the water temp but when I do it seems too hot for the rest of the family to use safely. Any suggestions other than to not buy Whirlpool again?
Incoming water temperature is very important for good dishwasher performance. As recommended by all manufacturers, it suppose to be about 120°F inside the dishwasher, not from the kitchen faucet. If water is not hot enough then the dishwasher will run much longer and it would not dry as good as it should.
If you dishwasher has a stainless steel tub then you have to use Jet Dry.
