Whirlpool Diagnostic Sequence?

Hi,

I have a Whirlpool GU2400XTPB6 with the dreaded “7 LED Flash” problem. Got this with the house when new, and (wouldn’t you know it) the datasheet is missing from the lower front panel.

I have validated the heater circuit from the control board, through the limit switch, on to the heater element, up to the door switch (I used a small wedge to simulate a door-closed condition to validate the microswitch), and back to the control board. Resistance throughout the circuit is approximately eleven (11) ohms (measured with the board disconnected between the WHT/RED Wire and the WHT wire after the door switch).

First, is eleven ohms reasonable on this circuit? If this is not a solid measurement value, how much current should the heater element draw? I have an ammeter, and know how to use it. I could isolate the heater element and run 120VAC through it for a few seconds to determine current draw.

Second, is there any way I could get the diagnostic sequence from you?

I really don’t want to replace a control board & heater if the system sensed a low temp value and went to default.

Thanks!

Rob

Here is your parts breakdown
Model GU2400XTPB6

Here is your tech sheet

Heating element is within spec. Draw would be 120/11= 10.9 amp.
