Main Symptom:no water coming out of the door
What happens & when:if I open the left door and put a magnet on the left door sensor the water works and the light goes out. Take the magnet off the sensor and the light comes on and no more water. Questioning if the switch, EBF62234501, is bad but why would it work the light? Is there another switch for the water? Thank for your help. Walt Overholt

Just to verify, if the door is open and the door switch is bypassed using a magnet, the water dispenser will operate properly? If the magnet is removed and the door is closed, the water will not dispense? This can help isolate what may be going on.

Yes, is there another switch?

Yes, I don’t understand. Is there another switch?

This is going to indicate that the magnet in the door is not activating the door switch properly or there is an issue with the wire harness at the door hinge. If the magnet being used for a bypass can stay in place while the door is closed, it will verify which one the issue is. If the dispenser works with the bypass magnet in place and the door closed, the door magnet is missing, misaligned, or damaged. If the dispenser does not work doing this, and the wires under the door hinge cover are not damaged, then there is a wire failure in the door harness and the door would need to be replaced. Here is a link for the door magnet that LG uses in the fresh food doors. If the /## or product code of your model could be provided, the door part number will be able to be identified.
