Water in bottom of dishwasher

I have read numerous posts on the GE Profile dishwasher not draining all the way. I cleaned the filter, etc..
I am wondering if the dishwasher is suppose to drain all the way or should there be a little water sitting above the screen in the bottom. The dishwasher works fine but there seems to be about a 5/8 inch of water above the screen.
Should I be concerned?

Thanks

Ok, just ran another cycle thru it. Water level is rising and is up to the flood valve. It’s obvious it is not draining. I took the screen apart and clean it. Looked down inside into the impeller area and saw a lttle debris but not alot. Should I use a vacuum to clean out the drain line? What should I do next?

Just looked on craigslist for another D.W… Found a smoking deal on a GE Profile. Works great but doesn’t drain. Are all these things junk?
Called a friend of mine to ask if he wanted to help me look for another dishwasher if I can’t fix mine… His is doing the same thing!!!

Thanks

Well I have not heard of this fix but it worked for me. Simple to.
I removed the drain line going to the garbage disp. Took my shop vac and sealed the drain line from the dishwasher into the shop vac hose with my hand. Turned that baby on and looks like it pulled a piece of bread out!

Cause…

Drain hose support busted and hose was below disp. allowing debris to backflow into the dishwasher discharge line.
I seems to work now.
