Washer won't stop filling and spinning

Can someone tell me what might be wrong with my washer. After doing a complete load but before turning off, it started refilling and just kept filling - would have overflowed if I had not switched it to drain. After draining it went into spin cycle and for first time it just kept spinning and spinning until I shut it down manually. After removing clothes I tested the filling problem by unplugging and it stopped filling when I unplugged it so it would seem not to be the fill valve. What could be the problem – is there something that could be causing both the overfilling problem and the continuous spinning problem? Thank you very much for any help anyone can give.

Could it possibly be the timer???

Open the control panel and check how the pressure hose is connected to the water level switch (#10 on the break down diagram).

Wondering if any one can help? Ge washer
First washer fill to proper level to wash and fills to only small level to rinse
Then it stop spinning
Then it stop agitating
Husband opened washer it worked for 2 loads then stop agitating/ spinning
Then he opened timer it started overflowing but started to agitate and spin
COULD It be the timer?

Your problem looks very similar to the problem posted back in 2009.

I don’t think it is connected to the timer. The first thing you may want to check is how the pressure hose is connected to the pressure switch. The next step is to remove the front panel and how the other end of this hose is connected to the washer outer tub. Disconnect the pressure hose from the pressure switch and blow some air through the hose. Possibly it is clogged.

Post the results.
