I have a Frigidaire stacked W/D that is hanging during the wash cycle. Whenever it completes the wash part of the cycle the unit drains in preparation for the rinse cycle. Once it appears to be almost fully drained the cycle stops. I can cancel the cycle (by pushing in the timer knob) and let it sit for a couple minutes. After a couple minutes I hear an audible click as if a fuse/switch is resetting. I can then pull out the timer knob and continue the cycle. The cycle starts up again, but quits within 5-10 seconds. I can hear the water pump running as if it is still trying to drain, and I think I hear an additional humming noise. The motor/belt is not spinning when this happens. The motor seems hot and is putting off a slight burning smell.
I’m also starting to notice a few other symptoms. The lid lock switch is occasionally engaging so that I need to move the lock to the side to open the lid. Also after this problem started I noticed that the lid of the washer needs to be closed in order for the machine to fill. In the past the machine would always fill with the lid open.
Is this a bad motor, lid lock switch, water pump or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
