Last weekend I bought a matching washer/ dryer set for $50. The dryer works great, but the washer floods on any load larger than small. Does anyone have an idea what this could be before we start poking around? I already checked the hoses and it’s not that. Thank you so much!
It might be your pressure switch/water level switch. Or there could be a hole in the tubing to it. Or the pressure dome on the side of tub could be partiality blocked.
It depends on what you mean by overflows. Does the water fill the tub to the top then run over the top?

Thank you for your comments. The water actually comes out from the bottom. I know it’s coming from the tub because it is soapy. I will have to do an experiment and see if it leaks when it fills or only when it agitates.
Okay I conducted the experiment…by just filling up the washer, it leaks underneath, before agitation. Does this help to identify the issue? Thanks again!
There are several places that could be leaking. The pump seal, one of the hoses, the spin tube gasket, the tub gasket, and there could be a hole worn through the tub.
Your going to need to take the shell off and watch as it fills. This video tells how to remove the case. Don’t pay any attention to the part. Just watch the first 2 minutes of the video. Make sure the washer is level and solid on the floor. Take out 2 screws and 2 clips and the whole case comes off. Watch out for sharp edges.
Well we took the washer apart like the video said, and oddly enough it WAS the center seal. After watching the video we decided that was way beyond what we were going to do for this appliance. Thank you so much for helping us figure out what was wrong!
