Sound now coming from my 7 year old bosch SHP878WD5N dishwasher when in washing cycle

Check in the pump to make sure that there is nothing caught in it. If there is nothing caught in it then it sounds like the bearings on the motor may be going bad.

I cleaned out the filter and checked below the filter for any debris as described in the owners manual. Nothing. I did NOT pull the unit out and open the pump to look for debris as it is a larger udnertaking.

So the fix is replacing the pump assembly (assuming I dont find debris after I pull the unit out should I decide to do that) with the Dishwasher Circulation Pump And Heater Part Number: 12008381 Can this repair be delayed until the failure becomes more than simply a little noise? Thank you!
