I have a maytag M# MDE9316AYW, I want to open the lid to see why its rattling and having trouble turnnig but I cant figure how to remove the top, can you help please?

Yeah, it is not intuitive.

  1. Take out the screws in the door hinges and take off the door.

  2. Take out the two scews in the plastic clips opposite the door hinges.

  3. Pull off the goalpost like frame.

You will now have access to the screws that allow the front to come off and to release the top, which will flip up on hinges.

Click on your model number to see an exploded view of your machine.
