Touch Screen Buttons are Unresponsive What happens & when: The touch screen style buttons are unresponsive. The washer turns on, the dial works for changing the presets and the display works. Also the washer will run a full wash cycle. I changed out the main display board thinking that was my issue but the problem persists. I came acroos this site from your YouTube videos. Thank you for this service.

Since the washer powers up normally, the rotary selector works, the display is functioning, and the washer can complete a cycle, you’ve already ruled out several major components. Replacing the user interface/display board with no change makes it much less likely that the display board itself is the problem.
The most likely causes, in order, are:
Damaged or contaminated touch panel/overlay (most likely)
On this Samsung model, the capacitive touch buttons are built into the control panel assembly. If moisture has gotten behind the panel, the overlay has cracked, or the touch sensor has failed, the display can still work normally while the touch buttons stop responding.
Inspect the control panel for signs of moisture, detergent residue, or physical damage.
Loose or damaged ribbon cable/harness
Unplug the washer.
Remove the console and disconnect the ribbon cable between the display/UI and the main control.
Inspect for bent pins, corrosion, or a partially seated connector.
Reconnect it several times to clean the contacts and make sure it is fully seated.
Main control board communication issue
Although less common, the main control board processes the touch inputs. Since replacing the display board didn’t change the symptom, the main PCB becomes a stronger possibility if the wiring checks good.
Things to check
Perform a hard reset
Unplug the washer or turn the breaker off for 5–10 minutes.
Restore power and test the buttons before starting a cycle.
Check for stored error codes
If the washer has any communication or UI-related faults stored, they may help narrow down whether the issue is in the interface or the main control.
Inspect the wiring
Verify the ribbon cable isn’t pinched or damaged.
Check both ends of every connector for corrosion or backed-out terminals.
If everything checks good
Since you’ve already replaced the display/UI board and the symptom is exactly the same, I’d lean toward either:
a failed touch panel/control panel assembly (if it is separate from the board you replaced), or
a failing main control board.
A couple of questions that would help narrow it down:
Which buttons are unresponsive—all of the touch buttons or only certain ones?
Does the washer make a beep when you touch them, or is there no response at all?
What part number did you install for the display board (OEM or aftermarket)?
Thank you for the reply. All the buttons are unresponsive, and there is no noise. It is like it doesn’t know they are being touched. The part I replaced was a used DC92-02001A. The next part I thought it might be was the touch panel itself. I’m thinking it’s the thin green board on the back of the screen. I wasn’t sure that piece could be replaced, it looked like it was part of the screen when I first disassembled the unit. Checking out the touch panel there is no cracks or any place I can see where moisture has gotten in. i also cleaned the front of the screen to make sure there is no residue. Is there anything I can check on the inside of the screen, I’ve disconected and reconnected the the wires a few times so I’m pretty sure those are good.
