Samsung top load washer WA50A5400AV turning on but not starting

Main Symptom: turns on, won’t start
What happens & when: Every time I turn on the washer, it happens: lights come on, sounds are made, but it will not start when the start button is pushed. The controls will not work, turning the dial does not change the load type. There is a faint click, but the door does not lock. I believe the door not locking is the ultimate issue.

We’ve found out that, if we leave the washer on, at times it will start to drain on its own. Then we can turn it off, back on, and it works properly. This also happens when the self-clean cycle comes on.

I’ve successfully run the diagnostics cycle 2x, with no error code. Today when I left it on to see if it would drain on its own, AC6 error code came up.

I tested the resistance on the door lock mechanism, and everything came up normal. Does this mean I need to replace the door lock?

Error Code (if any): AC6
Parts or tests already tried: tested door lock mechanism as shown in your video with William and no issues were found, looked for socks or other items plugging the drain

The AC6 error code is a communication error code between the interface/console and the main control. It can be either the console or the main control, or both. Being the controls do light up but don’t always respond, i would probably start with the console, or replace the washer depending on how much money you want to put into the washer.
