I have a Samsung RS25J500DSR/AA. I noticed that the freezer is not working properly when I run out of ice, i checked the meat and they were soft. We researched and we defrosted the whole refrigerator 24hrs and put it ok after. At first everything was working fine there’s ice coming out but after few days it started doing it again, meat was not frozen and it stop creating ice. There is no air coming out of the vents inside the fridge and freezer.
That sounds like a defrost issue, have you noticed ice building up on the evaporator cover in the freezer section? When it was cooling properly did you notice if there was a fan running in the freezer section?
There were ice from one of the vent before we did the 24hrs defrost, after we defrost for 24hrs ice were all melted. I heard buzzing noise but I don’t think it is fan.
I’d suggest accessing the evaporator in the freezer and testing the defrost heater and bi-metal on the defrost heater assembly DA47-00311A for a resistance value. Should be between 20-50 Ωs.
If that’s good, and the unit seems to cool properly in both sections when the evap is free of ice, you’re looking at either the temperature sensor on the back of the evaporator cover, DA32-10105H, or the one on the evaporator, DA32-10109W.
