I watched a YouTube video titled “Fix Your Samsung Range Oven Heating Issues Now” and tried to recreate the troubleshooting that it recommended.
Step 1: Checked the Temperature Sensor and found resistance at 1083 ohms at room temperature so I believe that is good.
Step 2: Checked resistance of the heating elements and found the following: Upper element (broil) at 13.3 ohms, lower element (bake) at 18 ohms, and checked middle element (convection bake) at 44 ohms (note - the video said this should be about 70 ohms.)
Step 3: Checked voltage going to each element while operating in each mode, results as follows: 1) with broil selected had 240v at broil element. 2) with convection bake selected had 240v at both the broil element and the convection bake element intermittently (you could hear a relay “click” and the 240v would cycle between the broil and the convection bake elements. 3) with bake selected, the oven acted just like in convection bake with 240v cycling between the broil and convection bake elements. I never got voltage at the lower “bake” element.
I’m thinking I have a control board issue but before I spend $250 on a new board I am wondering if anyone has any input on my troubleshooting or my thoughts.
