Samsung oven fan motor plug does not fit

Main Symptom: replacement fan motor power plug prongs are too far apart
What happens & when: fan was making noise. bought replacement fan, was shipped part AP5967760 (DG96-00110E), SMC U386E. went to replace, discovered that the power plug for the new fan does not fit the wiring harness for the old fan, the prongs are about 1/2" apart on the new motor, but are only about 1/4" apart on the old motor. The old motor SMU is U386A. How can I resolve this? Is there an adapter or perhaps a replacement wiring harness plug that I can wire in that will fit the new motor?

Hi Rayschmitt,

Unfortunately, there is no replacement wire harness available. However, by splitting the harness and adding heat shrink tubing, you can safely repair the existing wiring.

You can also use 1/4" spade connectors. Simply clip off the original connector and install the spade connectors onto the wires.

The part number you’ll need is AP5642027.
