Samsung ME21B706B12 Microwave faulty display

What happens & when: No error codes. Unit functions perfectly normally except that one segment of one digit of the display has failed (see photo). It failed gradually over about a week, gradually getting dimmer until going out completely. Is this likely the display itself, or the control board? What is the smallest replacement part I can buy to fix this (hopefully not the entire door assembly)?
